Media field needs comprehensive regulatory solutions
Some security initiatives bring a threat, and some useful projects aren't working
During the Telecom Ukraine 2021 conference, September 5, 2021, the Association of Rights Owners and Content Providers organized a broad discussion on the necessary regulatory aspects of increasing the competitiveness of domestic pay-TV services.
Best media experts-practitioners discussed the legal status of digital transformation participators in television, the main regulatory, business, and security issues of pay-TV, the importance of creating a modern regulatory ecosystem where it's profitable to follow simple rules, and commented on existing legislative initiatives and their impact on competition. It has been said that the media sector needs urgent, comprehensive regulatory solutions, some security initiatives pose a threat to it, and some useful projects aren't working. The major difficulties for all market participants were recognized as piracy and danger from Russian OTT platforms.
