Russian rocket attack leaves two dead in Krasnopillia, Sumy region

Early on the morning of May 29, Russian troops initiated a rocket strike on the town of Krasnopillia in the Sumy region, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that on Telegram.

As noted by the military administration, the occupiers once again committed a crime against the civilian population of the Sumy region.

"Today, May 29, a missile strike was carried out from the territory of the Russian Federation against the Krasnopillia community," the regional military administration emphasized.

It was also reported that as a result of the enemy attack, two people were killed, and three others were injured.

In addition, the cultural center and administrative buildings were damaged. All necessary services are available on-site.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration added that the consequences of the enemy attack are being clarified.

During the night and morning, there were two shelling incidents in the border territories and settlements of Sumy region conducted by the Russians. One explosion was reported. The communities of Shalyhyne and Konotop were targeted:

  • in Shalyhyne, there was gunfire,
  • In Konotop, a rocket attack resulted in one explosion.

It's worth mentioning that on the morning of May 29, a Russian missile was taken down by Ukrainian sky defenders in the Sumy region.

As the regional military administration reported at the time, the consequences of the Russian Federation's attack were being clarified initially without any injuries.

The Ukrainian Air Force alerted about the missile threat and reported that a high-speed object had been detected moving through the Sumy region towards the Chernihiv region.

Also, on the night of May 29, Ukrainian defenders of the sky shot down almost all of the Shahed-type attack drones that the Russian occupation forces launched at night for another air attack on the regions of Ukraine.
