On the night of May 6, the Russian occupiers launched an airstrike on energy facilities in the Sumy region.

The regional military administration reports this.

According to the regional military administration, all necessary services were working on the ground after the attack. Restoration work was carried out, and the consequences of the attack are being clarified.

According to Oleksii Drozdenko, the head of the Sumy City Military Administration, the city's critical infrastructure has been affected by the recent attack of the Shahed drones. As a precautionary measure, backup power has been activated for essential facilities, including water supply and hospitals, which will ensure uninterrupted service. Additionally, "points of invincibility" are currently being set up throughout the city.

The company reports that the high-voltage facility "Ukrenergo" was damaged as a result of the attack. Emergency recovery work began immediately after the alarm was sounded at night. "Ukrenergo" repair crews are working on gradually restoring the energy supply to consumers.

It should be noted that at night, the Russians launched 13 Shahed UAVs over Ukraine. Ukraine's Defense Forces destroyed 12 of them over the region.

Also, the attackers continue to target energy facilities in the Kharkiv region. Last night, the equipment of the local energy company was shut down for safety reasons. While most of it has been restored, ongoing hostilities near the facilities impede the complete restoration of the energy supply. Repair work is being conducted according to the security situation.
