New footage shows Ukrainian soldiers repelling Russian assault near Robotyne
"Omega" Special Forces of Ukraine's National Guard repelled another assault by Russian occupiers in the area of Robotyne, the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region.
The Russians launched the attack using tanks, Rubryka reports, citing the National Guard.
"The incidents of repelling the enemy's mechanized assault in the area of Robotyne," the statement said.
The National Guard fighters met the enemy with heavy fire from AT-4 and Mk-19 grenade launchers.
"Some of the armored vehicles detonated mines, while drones destroyed others," the National Guard reported.
During the past day, Ukrainian troops repelled 23 Russian attacks on the Avdiivka front, held their positions, and repulsed assaults by occupation forces in the Kherson direction. Aviation targeted 11 areas with Russian military personnel.
According to the Institute for the Study of War, Russian forces recently made slight progress on the northern outskirts of Synkivka. According to preliminary information, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully counterattacked near Berdychiv (northwest of Avdiivka) and "pushed Russian forces out of unspecified positions."
Front-line situation
Heavy fighting is taking place near the village of Ivanivske on the Bakhmut front. The Russian forces are attacking the settlement, while the heroic defenders of the Ukrainian forces resist and try to push back the enemy from the occupied positions.
Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavliuk, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated that Ukraine was stabilizing the front line and would begin preparations for counteroffensive actions to regain the initiative.
General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, Commander of the Operational-Strategic Group "Tavria," reported that there were no losses of lines, areas, or positions on the southern front line.
However, a new flashpoint has emerged on the Tavria front line, namely, the Orikhiv direction.
Overall, Russian military losses in personnel since the start of the full-scale invasion have exceeded 422,310.
ISW believes that continued delays of Western security assistance will likely postpone Ukrainian efforts to regain initiative across the entire theater of operations. This could also be detrimental to Ukraine's planned new offensive operation in the spring or summer of this year.
