Ukrainian forces destroy Russian ammunition depot near occupied Mariupol
Since yesterday, February 29, there has been unrest in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, with explosions echoing through the city.
Specifically, a fire broke out at the location of the Russian occupiers' base, Rubryka reports, citing Mariupol mayor's advisor, Petro Andriushchenko.
A fire broke out in Mariupol at the Russian location between Topolina Street and the Kalchyk River floodplain.
"Suddenly (not), a fire broke out," the mayor's advisor wrote.
After the explosion, two ambulances (out of 10 operating in the city) rushed toward Melekine.
"Considering the number of casualties and the speed, the occupiers must have had a bad time. The wounded were not brought back to Mariupol Hospital by ambulance. Apparently, they were treated on the spot. Coincidence?" Andriushchenko speculated.
On the morning of March 1, it became known that the occupiers in Mariupol were short of one ammunition depot.
"Mariupol. Consequences. Let's start the day with good news. Duplet. We confirm the strike near the occupier's base in the northwest direction toward the villages of Stary Krym / Kamenske / Kalchyk. Minus one ammunition depot," Andriushchenko revealed.
Explosions in Mariupol
Russian forces captured Mariupol in the eastern Donetsk region, located on the shore of the Sea of Azov, during the large-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. As a result, explosions constantly resound in the city, often as a result of attacks on the Russian occupiers' bases.
On February 19, explosions rocked Mariupol. Mariupol Mayor's advisor, Petro Andriushchenko, reported a plane crash.
Later, Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk confirmed the incident, stating that the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down two more Russian planes in the east. According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, these planes were carrying out guided bombing on Ukrainian positions.
