Zelensky said what the talks will be about:

  • Topic number one is the Peace Formula. "Last year in Jeddah, we held a fruitful meeting at the level of advisors regarding its implementation. Now we are very close to holding the first Peace Summit, and we count on continued active support from Saudi Arabia."
  • Topic number two is the return of prisoners and deported persons. "The leadership of Saudi Arabia has already contributed to the liberation of our people. I am sure that this meeting will also bring results."

For reference:

As reported, on August 5-6, 2023, a second meeting was held in Jeddah at the national security advisers and political directors level regarding the key principles of peace based on the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to the results of the first day, namely on August 5, representatives of about 40 countries agreed that the basis of the future peace agreement would be the inviolability of Ukraine's borders.

It was also reported that Saudi Arabia is ready to continue its mediation efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.

In addition, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has already had several phone conversations with the crown prince of Saudi Arabia. The peace formula regularly becomes one of the topics of discussion. Ukraine wants to involve as many states as possible in its support.
