Ukraine's air alert app to notify users of natural and man-made disasters
The updated version of the Air Alert app will send notifications about various types of threats and natural disasters and instructions for further actions in such situations, Rubryka reports, citing the developers of the Ajax Systems and Stfalcon apps.
What was the problem?
On March 1, 2022, the Air Alert application was launched in Ukraine, which notifies users about sirens in their regions.
However, all types of notifications sound the same.
What is the solution?
The developers added notifications and instructions about natural and man-made disasters. As reported, version 5.2 is already available for iOS and Android users.
Information about all types of danger will be provided by the duty centers of civil defense notifications and the State Emergency Service. For each type of danger, the developers created unique notifications.
How does it work?
In addition to sound signals, the developers announced that the app also transmits text messages with action recommendations. This will help to notify many people in a timely manner about critical situations, such as a dam breach and the need for evacuation.
Also, the new app version has an improved energy-saving mode, and errors with alarm announcement sound fixed. The status in the pinned message has been updated.
If the application does not update automatically, users are advised to do it manually or reinstall it.
