Ukrainian army makes substantial gains, advancing 1-2 kilometers on Zaporizhzhia and Bakhmut fronts

At the end of last week, Ukrainian troops launched counteroffensive actions in Ukraine's east, namely in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Bohdanivka, Yahidne, Klishchiivka, and Kurdiumivka.
Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar reported on the Telegram messaging app that, in each direction, the Ukrainian forces advanced 1 to 2 km.
According to the deputy minister, Ukraine's Defense Forces conducted both defensive and offensive operations in the east during the week and had tactical success.
The Russian forces launched an offensive on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariinka fronts; heavy fighting is still ongoing. During the past week, about 250 combat clashes took place in these directions, Maliar said, emphasizing that the Russians tried to push the Ukrainian troops out of their positions but failed.
"Last week, the enemy launched 6,457 rounds of shelling and fired 315,006 rounds of ammunition in the east. Compared to last week, the number of shellings increased," the deputy minister said.
At the same time, the Ukrainian army launched counteroffensive actions in the east near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Bohdanivka, Yahidne, Klishchiivka, and Kurdiumivka at the end of last week. In each direction, the advancement is from 1 to 2 km. The Ukrainian troops are entrenched at the achieved boundaries and continue to destroy the enemy, Maliar said.

According to British analysts, in recent days, Ukrainian troops have regrouped and are again conducting large-scale offensive operations in three main areas in the south and east of Ukraine.
On Saturday, June 24, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar reported that Ukrainian soldiers from the Eastern Group of Forces launched an offensive on several fronts, gaining progress everywhere.
It was also reported that Ukrainian forces retook positions in the eastern Donetsk region held by Russian troops since 2014 when Russia and its proxies started their aggression. Near the town of Krasnohorivka, the Ukrainian assault units regained several positions with a well-planned counterattack.
