Finland to send three mine clearing Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine
Finland prepared its 14th package of military aid to Ukraine.
It includes ammunition and Leopard 2 tanks for demining territories, the state's defense ministry says.
For security reasons, the Ministry of Defense does not disclose the entire contents of the package, as well as the delivery terms.
"From the point of view of Ukraine's defense struggle, all material aid is vital. We will continue to resolutely support Ukraine in countering russia's brutal attack," Finnish Defense Minister Antti Kaikkonen said.
They note that the cost of the new aid package is 161 million euros. In total, since the beginning russia's full-scale war, Finland has allocated 910 million euros in aid to Ukraine.
As part of the 14th aid package, Ukraine will receive:
- three Leopard 2R demining tanks,
- other heavy weapons,
- ammunition.
The Finnish military will provide training for Ukrainian specialists on the Leopard 2 tanks.
Ukraine has already received three Leopard 2 tanks as part of the previous aid package.
