Ukraine to receive USA's Sea Sparrow missiles with radar guidance – Politico

For the first time, the United States will provide Ukraine with Sea Sparrow anti-aircraft missiles with radar guidance.

The American publication Politico reports this.

The missiles are part of a new military aid package from the United States.

Such missiles can reportedly be fired from sea or land to intercept cruise missiles or aircraft.

Several Politico sources told Politico that the Ukrainian military is planning to launch Sea Sparrow missiles from Buk air defense systems, which have remained in Ukraine since Soviet times.

According to the publication, until now, Taiwan was the only country that used the land-based version of Sea Sparrow missiles, while the United States and its allies use the ship-based version.
