Explosion rang out at Ukrainian embassy in Madrid, one person injured — media

On November 30, an explosion rang out at the Embassy of Ukraine in the capital of Spain, Madrid, as a result of which one of the employees of the diplomatic department was injured.

This is reported by the Spanish publication Efe with reference to its sources in the police.

As noted, the explosives were in an envelope that the injured employee received.

According to sources, the man received minor injuries and was hospitalized.

The Spanish police activated the anti-terrorist protocol and surrounded the territory where the embassy of Ukraine is located.

Europa Press stated that the explosion was reported at 1:15 p.m. The Spanish media outlet ultimahora.es added that the letter was addressed to the ambassador of Ukraine, but it was not passed through the scanner but was opened by guards in the embassy's garden.

Currently, the Ukrainian embassy does not officially comment on this incident.
