Germany's possibilities for supply of weapons to Ukraine are almost exhausted — Germany's Minister of Defense
German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said that it would soon be impossible to supply weapons to Ukraine from Bundeswehr warehouses.
Welt writes about it.
"I have to admit as defense minister that we are reaching the limit of what we can transfer from the Bundeswehr," Lambrecht said.
She added that the Bundeswehr must be able to guarantee national defense and the protection of NATO, and as defense minister, she will ensure that this continues to be the case.
Lambrecht also said she is "very optimistic" that exchange with Greece in support of Ukraine may take place soon.
The Bundeswehr previously handed over several self-propelled howitzers and multiple rocket launchers to Ukraine.
A few days ago, the head of the Defense Committee of the Bundestag, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, called to continue supplying Ukraine with weapons from the Bundeswehr warehouses. In particular, she named the Marder armored personnel carriers, which the Bundeswehr could later receive a replacement from the industry.
It was previously reported that the German government approved the sale of 255 Vulcano high-precision guided artillery shells to Ukraine, but their transfer date is currently unknown.
