Colombian President Ivan Duque has recognized russia's actions in Ukraine as genocide

This was stated by Colombian President Duque on CNN.

"What is happening in Ukraine is genocide. And it must stop… This is madness," he said.

The publication also noted that Colombia was ready to play a central role in providing Western countries with energy resources after sanctions against russia.

We're talking about oil and gas production, renewable energy sources, and coal.

Duque listed three areas where Colombia would be ready to increase production: traditional oil and gas production, and renewable energy sources such as clean hydrogen and coal.

"Colombia today can immediately increase coal production. … We have some of the largest resources in the world, and we do not use them [for electricity production]," Duque said.

In particular, they noted that Colombia would increase coal supplies to Germany.

As reported by Rubryka, the day before, US President Joe Biden made a similar statement during a speech in Iowa.

In particular, the US president noted that putin was trying to "wipe out the idea of even being able to be Ukrainian."

As Rubryka later wrote, French President Emmanuel Macron refused to call Russia's actions in Ukraine genocide.

"I will be careful with such terms today because these two peoples [russians and Ukrainians] are brothers," he said.

The latest statement provoked a sharp response from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

The Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau also believes that it's "correct" to call russia's aggression against Ukraine "genocide."
