In Chornobyl, the Russians looted the Central Analytical Laboratory at a cost of 6 million euros

The State Agency of Ukraine for Exclusion Zone Management announced this on FB, Rubryka reports.

According to the statement, the Russian invaders looted and destroyed the newest Central Analytical Laboratory in Chornobyl.

"Thanks to the EU's Instrument for Nuclear Safety Cooperation, a project was successfully implemented in 2015 with Ukraine's partner, the State Agency of Ukraine for Exclusion Zone Management, to improve the radioactive waste management infrastructure. Nearly 100 units of state-of-the-art costly analytical equipment having no analog in Europe," stressed the agency.

It "is a unique complex with powerful analytical capabilities, can provide services at any stage of radwaste management (radioactive waste – Ed.), from air conditioning to disposal, as well as at the stage of research and technology development," the statement said.

Also, on the base of the laboratory, there were highly active samples and samples of radionuclides.

They are currently in Russian hands.

As Rubryka previously reported, on February 24, after a fierce battle, the Russian military seized the Chornobyl nuclear power plant.

"After a brutal battle, our control over the Chornobyl site was lost.

The condition of the former Chornobyl nuclear power plant, confinement, and nuclear waste storage facilities is unknown."

Station workers are held hostage.

"This threatens the security not only of Ukraine but also of Europe," said Aliona Shevtsova, an adviser to the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
