White House unveils a new package of sanctions against Russia and Belarus

Details of new sanctions against Russia and Belarus have been revealed at the White House

Details are published on the White House website, the EP reports.

They were developed in response to President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

In particular, the US Department of Commerce will extend the strict export control policy imposed on Russia to Belarus.

"This step will help prevent the diversion of items, technology, and software through Belarus to Russia and significantly reduce the ability of both countries to sustain their military aggression," the statement said.

It is also reported that the US State Department will impose sanctions on Russia's defense sector to further limit Putin's military machine.

"A total of 22 Russian defense companies will be included in the list, including companies producing combat aircraft, infantry fighting vehicles, electronic warfare systems, missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles for the Russian armed forces," the statement said.

In addition, the United States is imposing export controls on oil and gas production equipment in Russia.

In addition, the United States will impose sanctions on structures that support the Russian and Belarusian armed forces, the Russian and Belarusian security services, the military and defense sectors, and/or military and defense research.

According to the sanctions, the military, as well as the aerospace, maritime, and high-tech sectors will not receive American technological goods and technologies.

The United States will also ban Russian aircraft from entering and using US domestic airspace.

As Rubryka previously reported, the United States is preparing a package of sanctions against more Russian oligarchs, as well as their companies and assets.
