The European Union member states have agreed on a package of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

EU High Representative Josep Borrell announced this today in Paris following an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to Borrell, the EU foreign ministers agreed to sanction 351 members of the State Duma who voted in favour of Russia's recognition of the self-proclaimed "Luhansk People's Republic" and "Donetsk People's Republic".

In addition, sanctions will be imposed against 27 individuals and entities involved in undermining or threatening the territorial integrity of Ukraine, its sovereignty and independence.

At the same time, Borrell has noted that the EU will strengthen these sanctions if Russia continues to act aggressively against Ukraine.
