Ukraine is counting on partners' understanding to provide a MAP - Taran

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Taran commented on the final communiqué of the North Atlantic Alliance summit held in Brussels on June 14. In particular, the Minister welcomed the statement of the Alliance leaders that Ukraine will become a member of NATO through the Membership Action Plan.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense informs about it, Rubryka reports.

"It's geopolitically important that our country continues to be on the Alliance's agenda. We are grateful to NATO for its cooperation and open-door policy," Taran said.

According to the Minister, Ukraine feels the organization's support in confronting global threats, such as Russia's aggressive policies and actions. He also added that the Alliance had been and remained a reliable security ally for Ukraine.

Andrii Taran also stated that Ukraine was counting on partners' understanding to provide a Membership Action Plan in the near future, which would guarantee the irreversibility of Ukraine's movement towards the strategic goal of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
