Kuleba calls on Ukraine's partners to increase pressure on Russia for a constructive approach in "Normandy"
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on Ukraine's international partners to increase pressure on Russia for it to behave constructively in the Normandy format.
The minister stated this at a joint briefing with the foreign ministers of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg on Friday, the EP reports.
According to Kuleba, the Normandy format continues to function, although Ukraine would like it to be more effective.
"The expansion of the Normandy format requires the consent of all current participants, i.e. Russia in the first place.
If at this stage it's impossible to change the structure of the Normandy format, we call on our friends and partners to help us, as well as France and Germany, to put pressure on Russia to behave constructively in the Normandy format," Minister said.
He also added that today the European Union had faced two tests of its solidarity.
"The first is Russia. The second is COVID-19. Metaphorically speaking, both can be described as a pandemic, political and healthcare one," Kuleba said.
