$1 million competition: Startup World Cup take place in Ukraine for the first time
Startup World Cup is officially in Ukraine for the first time! It's the largest global conference, a competition of startups with finals held in Silicon Valley. Startup World Cup is over 2,500 investors, over 500 speakers, and about 50,000 participants from around the world, who are witnessing the competition of 60 game-changing startups.
In Ukraine, the Startup World Cup was made possible by signing a cooperation agreement between the Ukrainian Future business incubator, which is now the official partner of the Startup World Cup in Ukraine, and the competition organizer, and the international venture company Pegasus Tech Ventures. The total investment of Pegasus Tech Ventures amounted to over 14 billion dollars. The portfolio of its clients is SpaceX, airbnb, Quibi, SoFi.
Registration for the regional selection of the competition in Ukraine will last until December 6. The key requirement for the contest participants is an officially registered business and eagerness to announce their project in the startup market. From the submitted applications, the Startup World Cup jury will select 12 teams to take part in the finals, which will take place at the Parkovyi Exhibition Center in Kyiv on December 22. The winner of the regional round will present his project in the Grand Final of the Startup World Cup, which will take place in San Francisco on May 19-21, 2021.
The central prize of the Startup World Cup is $1 million. However, the Grand Final of the Startup World Cup is a unique opportunity to meet leading investors, founders, and managers of innovative giant corporations such as Apple, Netflix, Siri, Softbank, LinkedIn, Cisco, Khosla Ventures on the same platform. The usual speakers of the competition are Steve Wozniak, Marc Randolph, Adam Cheyer, Marcelo Claure, Reid Hoffman, John Chambers, and many other successful entrepreneurs. Participants have the opportunity not only to present their project but also to hear the world experts' advice and find partners and future investors.
