Home Alone and eco-habits: what Kevin and characters did (not) right

Remember the McCallisters' brightly decorated house? Is it environmentally friendly? As a rule, yes. We can't say anything about how energy efficient these garlands were, but we hope they're certified and using LED bulbs. This is quite possible because they were invented in the 1960s by General Electric as less heated and more economical. So, considering that Kevin's father even set a timer that automatically turns the garlands on and off for a while, it's quite environmentally friendly.

But for other details of the film, environmental activists would have questions, which is not surprising: the film is 31 years old!
