In Vysokopillia, Kherson region, workers are actively renovating a school while also nearing the completion of a modern shelter, now 90% finished.
The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported this on Telegram.
What is the solution?
"In Vysokopillia, significant reconstruction efforts are underway at the school, a key facility in the area. The building is undergoing a complete renovation, while a new modern shelter is being constructed nearby to meet state standards fully," the head of the region noted.
How does it work?
According to Prokudin, the builders have already completed most of the work:
- covered the roof,
- installed windows,
- insulated the facade,
- built a boiler room.
They have also partially completed the interior decoration and laid out the sewage and water supply.
According to the head of the regional military administration, the work is progressing according to schedule.
Additionally, the head of the region emphasized that the shelter is already 90% complete.
"It is being equipped so that children can not only wait out the air raid alarm, but also continue their studies. Inside are classrooms, ventilation, heating, bathrooms, a fire protection system – everything you need for a comfortable stay," Prokudin noted.
The school is preparing to switch to blended learning on September 1. This will allow a partial return to the usual educational process, taking care of not only safety but also psychological comfort for children.
"I am sure that in such conditions, learning will be possible and effective. More than 460 students will be able to return to their desks. Each such facility is a step towards returning normal life to the community, despite the war," the head of the regional military administration emphasized.
For reference:
In the Mykolaiv region, a modern underground school was opened in one of the Voznesensky district's educational institutions. Thanks to this, more than 800 students from 10 settlements of the local community who had previously studied online switched to face-to-face mode.
