Victim count in Russian shelling on Sumy rises to 101, including 23 children

In Sumy, as a result of the Russian shelling on March 24, the number of victims increased to 101 people, including 78 adults and 23 children.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration and the State Emergency Service reported this.

As noted by the military administration, according to operational data, 101 people were injured as a result of the missile strike. 78 adults and 23 children sought medical help.

"Currently, 14 adults and 16 children are being treated in the hospital. One adult and one child are in stable serious condition," the regional military administration emphasized.

As they note, the city is still eliminating the consequences of the Russian strike. Specially deployed headquarters are working on the ground. Rescuers, police, utility workers, and volunteers from public organizations are working.

Owners of damaged apartments are receiving essential building materials for emergency repairs, including OSB boards for securing broken windows. Efforts are also underway to restore the city's electricity, heating, water, and gas supplies.

The State Emergency Service reported that no people were found under the rubble. However, dismantling emergency structures continues there, and dog teams have been involved.

"The State Emergency Service's roofers dismantle emergency structures in damaged multi-story residential buildings. They are also temporarily restoring roofs and windows damaged by the blast wave," the State Emergency Service said.

It is worth recalling that on March 24, explosions were heard in Sumy. Later, it became known that the Russian occupiers launched a missile strike on the city. As a result, high-rise buildings and a school were damaged. The Russians were aiming at a densely populated area of ​​the city.

On the night of March 25, the Russian invaders once again attacked the country with drones, as a result of which a hangar was damaged in the Myrhorod district of the Poltava region, and two employees of one of the enterprises were injured.

Also, in the Zaporizhzhia district of the Zaporizhzhia region, two residents were injured due to a UAV attack. In one of the villages, a private house was partially destroyed, outbuildings and a car were damaged.

Additionally, in Kharkiv's Industrial District, an unidentified UAV was reported to have fallen onto a playground. In Izium, Kharkiv region, a massive drone attack targeted infrastructure.

In Sumy region, a UAV attack was recorded in the Stepanivska community (3 explosions). A private house was damaged as a result of the shelling.

In the Kirovohrad region, Ukraine's air defenders endured another restless night, successfully repelling an enemy drone attack. The drone was shot down, with no casualties or injuries reported.

Also, in the Kyiv region, as a result of a Russian drone attack, fires raged in warehouses in the Fastiv and Boryspil districts. Operational services continue to work to identify and eliminate the consequences of the enemy attack.
