The Ukrainian foundation Razom for Ukraine, in collaboration with the Spanish agency Officer & Gentleman, has developed an innovative alarm clock integrated with Ukraine's air raid warning system. Known as the Air Raid Alarm Clock, the device emits a siren sound whenever an alarm is triggered in Ukraine.
The author of the project, Max Burtsev, reported this.
What is the problem?
According to the developer, for most people in the West, war remains pictures on the Internet.
"For us, it is reality: explosions, sirens, fear for loved ones, life between shelters. Ukrainians continue to fight for freedom because this is what we believe in. But we want to remind the world that war in the largest country in Europe is not something distant that can be ignored," he explained.
What is the solution?
The Ukrainian foundation Razom for Ukraine, together with the Spanish creative agency Officer & Gentleman, have developed an alarm clock that is connected to the Ukrainian air raid warning system.
The project was designed to let people hear what Ukrainians hear every day. If words failed to penetrate politicians' indifference, the developers hoped that a sound that couldn't be ignored would.
How does it work?
Burtsev states that each time an air raid warning is issued in Ukraine, the clock emits the same eerie sound.
The Air Raid Alarm Clock looks like a regular smartwatch but is connected to Ukraine's official warning system.
"So that every time an alarm sounds in any of our cities, this sound is played in the offices of politicians. Considering that the siren sounds on average 42 times a day, politicians have many reasons to wonder whether it is possible to continue to ignore this sound," the author of the project emphasizes.
The developer also added that on February 17, 2025, this alarm clock was installed on Luxembourg Square in front of the European Parliament when an emergency meeting was held there on the situation in Ukraine. That day, passers-by and politicians stopped to learn more about the device.

The main idea was simple: if Russia is not opposed now, these sirens could become a reality in their city.
Burtsev reported that 10 copies of the Air Raid Alarm Clock will also be handed over to American senators and members of the US Congress in the near future.
The project video was shot in Izium, Kharkiv region. During its creation, 38 air raids were heard in Ukraine.

As Rubryka wrote, millions of Ukrainians hear the sound of sirens every day, prompting them to halt their activities and seek shelter. In such moments, understanding the nature of the threat becomes critically important, as it dictates the appropriate response. Smartphones alert residents to danger, and the Ukrainian air raid map signals incoming enemy targets, but there's urgency in determining what exactly is approaching the city—whether it's a ballistic missile, a drone, or an enemy aircraft. Recognizing the characteristics of different air threats can be crucial for saving lives. For more details, read our article: "How to Determine What's Flying During an Air Raid?"
