Svitolina becomes first Ukrainian to win 100 matches at Grand Slam tournaments
On January 16, at the Australian Open, Elina Svitolina played her 143rd Grand Slam match and made history by becoming the first Ukrainian to win 100 matches at Grand Slam tournaments.

Svitolina's milestone victory came during the second round of the Australian Open, where she faced American Caroline Dolehide. The match lasted 75 minutes and ended with a score of 6:1, 6:4 in favor of Elina.
Svitolina achieved her first Grand Slam win at Roland Garros in 2013, defeating Romina Oprandi. Her 50th victory came at Wimbledon in 2019, where she triumphed over Petra Martić.

Elina Svitolina (born September 12, 1994, Odesa) is a Ukrainian tennis player, ranked as the third racket of the world in the WTA rankings in 2017, 2018, and 2019 in singles, and the bronze medalist of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo (2021). She is also the champion of the 2018 WTA Finals tournament.
She reached the semifinals of Grand Slam tournaments three times (2019, 2023) and the quarterfinals seven times (2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023). She is considered the most successful tennis player in the history of Ukrainian tennis.
As of mid-season 2023, Svitolina had won 37 matches against current top-10 WTA players at the time of the match, including seven matches against current No. 1s, and a total of 46 matches against 12 former No. 1s.
From the 2016 Summer Olympics to November 2019, Svitolina won all matches against current No. 1s in the world, six in a row, defeating Serena Williams, Angelique Kerber (three times), and Simona Halep (twice).
