Georgian volunteer Kakha Tilidze dies fighting for Ukrainian forces

Another Georgian fighter, Kakha Tilidze, who fought on the side of Ukraine's armed forces, died at the front.

Ekhokavkaza reports this.

Information about the death of the soldier was spread on social networks by his relatives and comrades-in-arms. Tilidze's death was reported, in particular, by volunteer Vano Nadiradze and leader of the Anti-Occupation Movement David Katsarava.

It is unknown where and under what circumstances the Georgian fighter died.

The Telegram channel about Georgian volunteers notes that Tilidze previously participated in battles in the Kursk region.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry also confirmed the fighter's death to the Georgian service of Radio Svoboda.

Tilidze hails from the village of Zemo-Alvani, Akhmet municipality.

It should be noted that in December, it was reported that Georgian fighter Badri Kvaratskhelia died in battle for Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the Russian full-scale war, several hundred Georgian volunteers have been fighting on the side of Ukraine (according to unofficial information, up to 2 thousand).

They are enrolled in various battalions and participate in combat operations on the front line. Since February 2022, more than 70 Georgian fighters have died in Ukraine – citizens of Georgia and citizens of Ukraine of Georgian origin.

For reference:

Foreign citizens are already fighting in the Defense Forces of Ukraine, not as representatives of their countries' armed forces but as volunteers.

Even at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky called on citizens of foreign countries who were friends of Ukraine to join the territorial defense forces.

A separate unit was formed from them—the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine. In March 2022, the Ministry of Defense reported that 55 countries have representatives in the International Legion.

In addition, a website was launched in Ukraine that contains all the necessary information for citizens of foreign countries who want to join the International Legion of Defense of Ukraine.

Also, in June 2024, Ukraine's intelligence reported on the simplification of service in military intelligence for foreigners.
