Russia implements censorship in occupied Ukrainian regions, banning references to St. Nicholas and carols similar to Soviet Union policies

In the Ukrainian temporarily occupied territories, the Russian Federation has instructed the so-called "administrations" to prohibit the celebration of St. Nicholas Day in preschools and educational institutions. Furthermore, a total restriction on carols and nativity scenes has been imposed.

The Center for National Resistance (CNR) reported that.

As mentioned, only "Ded Moroz" (the Russian equivalent of Santa Claus) and "Snow Maiden" should be the only ones present at all events in TOT institutions.

"The Kremlin is extremely fearful of any mention of Ukraine and the Ukrainian culture […]. They have re-implemented a ban on including both St. Nicholas and carol singers in the Christmas and New Year's festivities," the organization noted.

The CNR emphasizes that the occupiers have already held "preventive" conversations with children to discredit Santa Claus and all fairy-tale heroes of Western cultures.

In addition, those occupying the territory are proudly announcing that instead of just having a "Ded Moroz" figure, they are now introducing a "Ded Moroz—special agent" in the occupied regions, either from the OMON or the Russian Guard. The reason behind this is unclear. However, it's worth noting that Russia's OMON members with cotton wool beards, who have been present in the occupied areas for some time, have now spread to the occupied section of Zaporizhzhia.

It should be noted that Russian propagandists made a new "social video" before the New Year holidays. In it, air defense shoots down Santa Claus's sleigh directly over Moscow when he congratulates the residents of Russia on the New Year.

The people of Ukraine are highly aware of the potential consequences in the city of burning debris from missiles that air defense systems have shot down. Nonetheless, Russian Ded Moroz has given his approval for the military's decision to shoot down Santa's sleigh directly over the heart of the Russian capital.

In addition, the video surfaced online a couple of days following the shootdown of the flight from Baku to Grozny. However, according to actor Dmitry Melnikov, who portrayed the air defense operator, this commercial has no relation to the plane crash in Aktau. Instead, it was actually recorded during the autumn season.

According to most Ukrainians, "This is a cringe." However, opinions regarding the new video in Russia are less definitive.

For reference:

Earlier, Rubryka reported that under the pretext of establishing law and order and preventing crime among children and adolescents in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, filtering measures have been intensified.

The Russian invaders are also intensifying mobilization in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

In addition, in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region, the Russian military obliged all students to join the Kremlin's "movement of the first."
