Russian military strikes two Ukrainian energy facilities
During the night and morning of August 14, Russian invaders launched attacks on two energy facilities in Ukraine, targeting locations in both the north and south regions.
NPC Ukrenergo reported that.
As mentioned, Russian drones launched an attack on an energy facility in the northern region during the night.
This caused power outages for consumers in certain areas of the Chernihiv region. However, as of this morning, electricity has been restored to all affected consumers.
In addition, this morning, the Russians shelled the Ukrenergo energy facility in the southern region.
As a result of the enemy attack, there was no power outage. Emergency recovery works are ongoing.
According to Ukrenergo, as of 9:30 a.m. on August 14, consumption is 1% lower than at the same time yesterday. This decrease is attributed to cooler nighttime temperatures.
On August 13, the highest consumption of the day was recorded in the evening, which was 2.4% higher than the previous day, August 12.
This is a significant increase in consumption, to which an additional thermal power plant unit is necessary.
Ukrenergo reminds everyone that the energy system is still being restored following Russia's eight major attacks. Emergency and scheduled repairs are currently taking place at energy facilities, and consumers are strongly advised to use electricity sparingly, particularly between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Restriction measures are not expected to be implemented today. Any potential updates will be communicated accordingly.
Yesterday, August 13, at the request of NPC Ukrenergo, Ukraine received emergency assistance from the power system of Slovakia.
Export does not take place and is not expected.
Due to hostilities and other reasons, 492 settlements in Ukraine have been wholly or partially cut off.
