The Superhumans Lviv complex was officially opened at the Lviv Superhumans Medical Center.

Rubryka writes about this, referring to the Ministry of Health.

What is the problem?

Many people lose limbs during war, and the prosthesis procedure is a rather complex and long process that consists of many stages.

First, the patient's wounds must heal, and then they must undergo a rehabilitation course, after which prosthetics are made. In the future, the patient will have to visit a prosthetist throughout their life to adjust the prosthesis, particularly due to changes in the amputated limb, lifestyle, physical form, etc.

What is the solution?

Over the past year, the Superhumans Center has expanded by 10,000 square meters of medical facilities.

"Since the first official opening of the center, which took place on April 14 of last year, Superhumans has increased by an additional ten thousand square meters of the medical building," the project's authors say.

Recently, a new department in the Superhumans center was presented in Lviv, where graduates and patients were reunited.

How does it work?

The event featured a new surgical unit with modern, state-of-the-art operating theaters and wards.

In addition, tours of the center were conducted and seven panel discussions were organized on veterans and society, technology, family, sports, education and business.

More than 200 veterans with prostheses took part in the event. All patients received bracelets with initials made from missile fragments.

"Whoever saves one life will save the whole world" is the inscription on the symbolic jewelry piece.

Also, since the end of February 2024, more than 70 operations of various directions, including reamputations, have been performed in the new complex, including 20 with the involvement of French specialists.

In addition, a 3D laboratory was set up there, where a special printer could print sleeves or stump receivers for prostheses, orthoses, and other models used in face and limb reconstruction operations.

We remind you that the first part of the Superhumans rehabilitation and prosthetics center began operating in the Lviv region in 2023.

Superhumans is a state-of-the-art prosthetics, rehabilitation, and reconstructive surgery clinic for military and civilian victims of the war in Ukraine. All services at the clinic are free for patients. The center is financed by donors and partners.

The first Superhumans Center was opened five months ago in Vynnyky, near Lviv. In the coming years, Superhumans will open five more centers in different cities of Ukraine: Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Rivne, and Dnipro.

We will remind you that the Ukrainian Maria Oz, together with the Superhumans Center, developed a project that demonstrates the beauty of people with facial injuries that they suffered due to Russia's aggression.
