BGV Charity Fund to help restore 200 farming households in Kherson region
The BGV Charity Fund's project, "Restoring Farms in De-Occupied Kherson," was selected by donors DanChurchAid and Southern Development Strategy from nearly two hundred proposals! The winning grant has a budget of $10,000.
As part of the grant project, the BGV Charity Fund will provide 200 families of 591 people with 2,000 laying hens and a grain supply to feed them for the first 30 days.
These are low-income families, including large families and those with a disabled member, who have suffered significant losses during the full-scale war in Ukraine. Their households were destroyed after de-occupation and during hostilities, and their livestock was stolen by Russian troops, leading to the loss of income, food, and livelihoods. As a result of the project, 591 people will have a potential source of income, as well as eggs and poultry meat.
The project is implemented by Southern Development Strategy in partnership with the joint office of DanChurchAid and Kirkens Nødhjelp in Ukraine, with financial support from the #UkraineHumanitarianFund of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Ukraine.
