Russian drones attack residential houses in Ukraine's southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia

During the night of March 28, explosions rocked Ukraine's southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia amid an air raid alert. 

The Russian forces targeted residential houses in three districts of the city, Rubryka reports, citing local authorities.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported a group of attack drones heading toward the Zaporizhzhia region.

Ivan Fedorov, the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, later confirmed the explosions.

Then, he clarified that the Russians carried out drone strikes on private civilian houses in Zaporizhzhia, resulting in casualties.

On the morning of March 28, Anatolii Kurtiev, the secretary of Zaporizhzhia City Council, stated that residential houses in the private housing sector in three city districts were affected by the night attack.

He added that five houses were partially destroyed, and over 40 were damaged. Two people sustained minor injuries and received first aid.

Fedorov added that the injuries were sustained by two women. He also mentioned that fragments of Russian drones caused fires in residential buildings. Firefighters promptly extinguished the flames.

Kurtiev posted photos showing the aftermath of the Russian attack.

Explosions also rocked Zaporizhzhia during an air raid alert on the afternoon of March 27, declared due to the threat of Russian missile attacks.

On March 22, almost 20 rockets were launched at Zaporizhzhia during a massive attack by Russian forces. 25 residents of the city were injured, and three died.
