Ukraine returned bodies and remains of 77 soldiers, killed in action on the front line, the Coordination HQ reports.

They soldiers were returned thanks to the cooperation of the Coordination Headquarters with the SSU Joint Center, the Internal Ministry, and the State Emergency Service of the Sumy region.

The International Committee of the Red Cross also received credits for assisting in the return of the bodies.

Ukrainian forces will ensure the transportation of repatriated bodies to designated state-specialized institutions for transfer to law enforcement agencies and forensic experts to identify the victims.

On December 22, Ukraine retrieved the bodies of 66 soldiers killed in action.

Both states have conducted a number of prisoner-of-war exchanges since the beginning of the full-scale war. Since August 2023, Moscow has frozen the swap.

On January 3, Ukraine and Russia held the largest prisoner exchange, resulting in 230 returned troops.

On January 24, Ukraine and Russia were supposed to hold the 50th prisoner exchange, but the downing of an IL-76 near Belgorod disrupted it.
