The Veteranka movement kicked off their New Year's project, "UkraineConnection," with a social media flash mob aimed at bringing together Ukrainians from across the globe. They have set a goal of raising 2 million Ukrainian hryvnias for the 35th Marine Brigade, named after Rear Admiral M. Ostrohradskyi.

The organizers reported that on Instagram.

What is the problem?

As the organizers of the Veteranka movement note, the war destroys ties between native people, the city, and the country, but Ukrainians strengthen them.

It should be noted that communication is essential for our defenders – it is literally the basis of survival.

After all, "++" in the language of the military means "everything is fine." It often means "I am alive".

What is the solution?

For each of us during the winter holidays to have the opportunity to feel our connection with those we love and with our home, and for our military to have quality communication while performing tasks, a flash mob meeting, "UkraineConnection" was launched.

In addition, thanks to this project, it is planned to purchase for the 35th Marine Infantry Brigade:

  • 26 portable radio stations,
  • 15 car radio stations,
  • technical support.

"Our goal is to prove, despite Russian propaganda, that Ukrainians worldwide today are united. The most important thing is to convey the warmth of our care to the military who defend Ukraine at the front.

We will spend every hryvnia received from you on the purchase of walkie-talkies for the 35th Marine Infantry Brigade named after Rear Admiral M. Ostrohradskyi, to ensure high-quality communication for the military and show how we support and wait for them," emphasizes the head of the Veteranka movement, Kateryna Pryimak.

Each donation from anywhere in Ukraine and the world will be displayed with a star on the interactive map if you indicate your city or country in the comments to the payment.

The project will continue until January 22, 2024, and end on the Day of the National Assembly of Ukraine.

For reference:

The public organization Women's Veteran Movement "Veteranka" is the first and only community of Ukrainian women with military experience. Today, the movement is the largest community, numbering about a thousand veterans and recruits of Ukraine, proactive civilian women volunteers who strengthen each other.

For almost two years of full-scale invasion, the organization transferred 70 million hryvnias of aid to the front and closed collective and individual requests of military and civilians.

It should be noted that in October, the VETERANKA movement held a game to support the military at the front, collecting UAH 5.8 million.
