Ukrainian women's military movement raises over $150,000 for female soldiers via video game
The VETERANKA women's military movement raised over $150,000 in a three-week video game fundraiser.
Along with the March of Women, it will transfer funds for the needs of women soldiers, holding the first Legend of Sisterʼs Power game.
What is the problem?
Ukraine's Defense Ministry states over 5,000 women soldiers now serve at the frontline, but their requests for proper uniforms and weapons are covered poorly.
The basic needs of women in the army are different from men's. For example, small-sized boots, said Kateryna Pryimak, co-founder of the VETERANKA movement.
At the same time, paramedics, snipers, and drone operators request various equipment, including medicine and night vision devices.
What is the solution?
Our task was to launch a creative collection to once again emphasize: the basic needs of women in the army are different from men's, Kateryna explains.
VETERANKA and March of Women held the first Legend of Sisterʼs Power game in fundraising history.
The game rules were based on the code of female solidarity to send vital equipment to Ukrainian soldiers and thank them for their service.
How does it work?
According to the game rules, each participant opened their own Monobank "jar" to collect money by creating their own military profile, which cost virtual coins. The movement believed 30 ambassadors would join the gathering. Instead, over 90 and thousands of Ukrainian women worldwide rallied together.
All the money will be spent to purchase 1200 female shoes, three cars, five night vision devices, and seven drones.

Women soldiers, such as head of the VETERANKA movement Andriana Arekhta, paramedic Oksana Mishina, and air scout Irina Terekhovich were among the ambassadors.
The collection of Legend of Sisterʼs Power was transformed into a separate project. Ukrainians began to dedicate songs and send aid to soldiers.
Part of the gifts was made by Dari Chernikova, author of the jewelry brand. The DARI jewelry was inspired by the video game and, together with her assistants, made the author's jewelry in silver with the inscription "sisters" power. "
Brand of comfortable basic clothing from Lutsk Usual collaborated with the organizers and made themed T-shirts "I am the legend of sisters" power. "
