60% of Ukrainian grain exports go through Romania – PM

Спільне засідання урядів України та Румунії

Romania has proven to be a reliable economic partner and ally in countering Russian aggression.

Romania has taken third place after Ukraine in terms of bilateral trade 600 days after the full-scale war start.

The PM called the cooperation between the two countries effective during the full-scale war unleashed by Russia. One of its results is effective cooperation in logistics.

Romania has become part of the "grain corridor" and "routes of solidarity." After Russia resumed its Black Sea blockage, the transit corridor through the Danube ports to Romania has become a key for Ukrainian agricultural exports, Shmyhal said.

Currently, 60% of our export grain transits through Romanian territory. In terms of bilateral trade, Romania is the third largest country for Ukraine. And this is far from the limit, the Prime Minister emphasized.

The second result of cooperation is a significant progress in the development of border infrastructure. Four new border crossing points were opened, and four more are planned to be opened in Bukovyna and Zakarpattia.

The PM is convinced that both states will continue to cooperate in strategically important areas, such as transport and logistics, the agricultural sector, border infrastructure, energy, and military cooperation.
