United to win: Canada donates sapper suits to Ukrainian deminers
Canada handed over 20 sapper suits to Ukrainian rescuers.
Rubryka reports, citing the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine.
What is the problem?
With the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, the work of the State Emergency Service specialists has changed a lot. They perform the same functions, but the scope and complexity of the work have changed. In particular, the analysis of debris has changed.
The volume of tasks for sappers has increased tenfold. Due to Russian aggression, the total area of mined territories in Ukraine is 174,000 square kilometers, which is twice the area of Austria. The number of employees in the pyrotechnic units increased from 600 to 1,000 people. This number is constantly growing.
What is the solution?
Ukrainian rescuers received 20 pyrotechnic suits from Canada.

How does it work?
"Canada has just handed over 20 more mine suits to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. These suits will help save lives in disposing of unexploded ordnance," the post reads.
It is part of a $22.5 million batch of demining equipment Canada is providing to Ukraine's Emergency Service.
Rubryka reported that the Kherson rescuers received four Bogun all-terrain vehicles from the United 24 project.
Also, Japan purchased 14 specialized cars for the sapper units of the State Emergency Service.
Earlier, Rubryka reported that the State Emergency Service rescuers received ten metal detectors from Germany.
