Russian missile attacks Ukraine's Kharkiv region, targeting residential building and killing civilian

Russian army launched a missile on the village of Tsyrkuny, Kharkiv region on May 18.

The strike killed one civilian and injured two, local authorities report.

The hit targeted a private residential building. Doctors are already providing the victims with the necessary assistance.

Over the past day, the Russians shelled at least 20 settlements in the Kharkiv, Kupyansk, and Chuguyiv districts of the region. Forest fires occurred after two shellings in the village of Novoosynove.

Serhii Melnyk, head of the Kharkiv military garrison, reported the Russians launched an attack on the Kharkiv region from the Russian city of Belgorod. According to the preliminary reports, they used an S-300 anti-aircraft system.

Russia's full-scale attacks on Ukraine

The Russian army launched 30 missiles at Ukraine during another massive attack on the night of May 18. Ukrainian forces managed to shoot down 29 of them.

A series of explosions rang out in the Khmelnytskyi region during an air raid alert. The enemy forces struck an infrastructure object.

Russia attempted to attack the capital. Gladly, the air defense forces destroyed all enemy targets.

The missile hit an industrial facility in the southern Odesa region. The attack killed one person and injured two.

Air defense forces also shot down a missile and a drone over the Oleksandrivskyi and Kropyvnytskyi districts of the Kirovohrad region. The debris of the drone fell on the civilian facility. A fire broke out but was extinguished for several hours, people had to be evacuated.

During a massive attack on Ukraine, the Russian occupiers fired four missiles at the Zhytomyr region. Air defense forces managed to shoot down one of them.
