Ukrainian volunteers host workshops for displaced children on the eve of Easter
Ukrainian volunteers of the PORUCH (Together) organization launched a series of workshops for children who had to leave their homes because of the war.
One can follow all activities here: https://www.poruch.org.ua/projects/poruch-space.
What is the problem?
Over 70% of the PORUCH team are displaced people from the war zone, and almost all of them have children.
"So we understand very well how difficult it is for children to move, to lose their home, school, and friends," Rusana Sharlai, head of the PORUCH organization, said.
What is the solution?
Volunteers host and conduct groups and events aimed at socialization and adaptation of children in a new city, psychological support, and help in finding new friends.
Children adore these activities a lot. They are distracted from thoughts about the war, get to know each other, and make incredible hand-made creative works, showing imagination and creativity.
"We are glad to have the opportunity to help and support children in Kyiv in such a difficult time," Ruslana Sharlai added.
How does it work?
Children made "Egg Nest" edible compositions and "Magic Wreath" Easter decorations for the occasion of Easter. The events took place in the cafe "Mr. Macarons" and the cafe "Momenty." The owners of both establishments are long-time friends and partners of the benefactors.
