"Move your tanks out of Ukraine", US dismisses russia's complaint on supplying depleted uranium shells to Ukraine
If the russians care about their tanks being intact, let them withdraw them from Ukraine – like all their troops.
US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said during Wednesday's briefing that the US is not providing depleted uranium weapons to Ukraine and dismissed russian complaints about the UK's announced intent to do so.
"This is a commonplace type of munition that is used typically for its armor-piercing capabilities," Kirby said.
He said the ammo is a commonplace type of munition that is used typically for its armor-piercing capabilities.
"If russia is deeply concerned about the welfare of their tanks and tank soldiers, the safest thing for them to do it move them across the border, get them out of Ukraine."
The UK's Defense Minister, Baroness Annabelle Goldie, said that London will transfer armor-piercing shells with a core of depleted uranium to Ukraine.
In this regard, russia's defense minister, sergei shoigu, said that such a decision by London "leaves fewer and fewer steps" to a potential "nuclear collision" between russia and the West.
