The governor reported that russian troops opened fire on the city on the night of January 12. As a result of the impact of the rockets, the local utility company's residential buildings and commercial buildings, garages, and equipment were on fire.
According to the regional administration, a 74-year-old woman died from shelling. The rescuers also pulled out a man from under the rubble. He is already receiving the necessary medical assistance.
Another person was injured due to the shelling of the city on January 11.
On the night of January 12, russian invaders attacked Zaporizhzhia, hitting infrastructure facilities and houses.
The secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, Anatolii Kurtiev, and the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Oleksandr Starukh, reported on Telegram that at 3:08 am, an air raid was announced in the city, which lasted for about half an hour.
Kurtiev reported that infrastructure objects were damaged due to the shelling, and a fire broke out at the impact site.
In addition, civilian houses were damaged due to the shelling.
According to the preliminary information from the city council secretary, no people were injured.
"Relevant services are already working at the scene," added Kurtiev.
In turn, the head of the region reported that as a result of a night rocket attack by the enemy in one of the districts of Zaporizhzhia, private residential buildings and infrastructure objects were damaged.
"The extent of the damage is being determined. All emergency services are working at the scene. According to preliminary data, all people are safe. A fragment of an enemy missile was also found," Starukh said.
