Kazakhstan will not accept russians fleeing mobilization
Kazakhstan has declared that it will not issue permanent residence permits to russian citizens without moscow's permission
RFE/RL reported this with reference to Kazakhstan's Speaker of the Parliament, Maulen Ashimbayev.
It is noted that the government of Kazakhstan took this decision because a large number of russians want to leave the country. The panic began after the kremlin announced a partial military mobilization.
"Our official institutions will not issue residence permits to persons who do not provide documents confirming that their country of citizenship does not object to their moving to Kazakhstan," the message emphasized.
Ashimbayev added that Kazakhstan's law enforcement and migration authorities work in accordance with the law.
They process requests from foreign citizens, including russians, to obtain a permit for permanent residence in the country.
According to Ashimbaev, in general, state bodies are aware of the situation regarding the sharp increase in the number of russian citizens entering the country and are conducting negotiations on this issue.
