This is stated in a daily report of British intelligence.
"The priority task in this direction is to surround the Ukrainian forces in the area of the Joint Forces Operation, disconnect them from the support or reinforcement of units in the country's west," the statement said.
It is also reported that Ukrainian forces have successfully prevented attempts by russian troops to cross the river in the Donbas.
The photos show that while trying to cross the Siverskyi Donets west of Sievierodonetsk, russia lost a significant part of the armored vehicles of at least one battalion-tactical group, as well as the pontoon crossings located there.
"Forcing the river in combat is a very risky maneuver, which indicates pressure on russian commanders to make progress in eastern Ukraine," the statement said.
It is noted that russian troops have not been able to achieve any significant success, despite the concentration of forces in the area after the withdrawal and deployment of units from the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.
