Rivne will gradually shift to alternative energy sources
Boilers in Rivne will switch to alternative energy sources to reduce gas consumption.
This was reported by Rivneteploenergo on Facebook.
"Rivneteploenergo continues to implement the 'green transition' plan. This will reduce the consumption of expensive gas for heat supply. The construction of the largest heat generation in Western Ukraine is underway on Makarova Street. Solid fuel boilers have already been delivered," the statement said.
It is also reported that the company plans to launch a boiler house with a total capacity of 20 MW this year. Currently, there are 29 boiler houses in Rivne.
As reported, in Rivne, heating companies plan to create the most powerful solid fuel generation in the western region, to re-equip up to 70% of boilers in 3-4 years. This will mean less dependence on gas price fluctuations in the future. Most of the heat will not be produced from gas but from local fuels, including biomass.
