First Ukrainian woman on Everest and K2 to develop a women's suit for alpinism
The first Ukrainian woman on Everest and K2 Iryna Halai will develop a women's costume for climbing.
She told about it in an interview with Ukrinform, Rubryka reports.
"In mountaineering, everything is for men! I wore a high-altitude 'unisex' suit on K2. And I was so angry with the manufacturer, so I sent them 'hello' from a height of 6600 through my beloved. I wrote: 'Ask them how to go to the toilet if the overalls don't unbutton, and I need to remove them, and here is the wind and -30 frost.' When I returned from the expedition, I expressed my complaint to the manufacturer. Well, because it's so unfair! We're women, we're different, and this must be taken into account. For the Snow Leopard project, I'll develop a women's costume for climbing with them," said Halai.
There's no talk about the entire line at the moment, but the climber promises to create a suit.
"It's very unfair that women don't have normal climbing clothes," Halai said.
