Over 5 million trees are cut down in Ukraine every year before the New Year holidays. Almost one-third of them, 1,770,000 spruce, aren't sold and are subsequently thrown into landfills. We should also remember that many trees are cut down illegally, and no one is planting new seedlings. Thus, the forest is simply killed to go to the dump after.
