What to watch this week? 9 interesting facts about the Ukrainian quest-comedy "WHERE IS THE MONEY?"
A new Ukrainian film, the first of its kind, will be released on October 21. What secrets did the actors reveal at the pre-premiere show?
In Mykhailo Khoma's (known as DZIDZIO) new quest-comedy "Where is the Money?" we will see the legendary Ada Rohovtseva, Yurii Horbunov, Anna Butkevych, Mykhailo Khoma himself, and other no less talented actors. On October 19, Rubryka visited the pre-premiere screening and is now ready to share its impressions, as well as reveal some secrets about the filming process and its details. And here is the first fact:
- The film was shot in 26 days! It's not a record for Ukrainian cinema, for example, the first part of "Swingers" was shot in just a week. However, 26 days for an entire film with intricate scenery (they hid many secrets!) is a surprising number. Rubryka visited the set of "Where's the Money?" in the summer just at the equator of the process.
- The film is the first in its genre throughout the entire world. This is a quest-comedy where the audience solves riddles with the heroes of the story. Opening the curtain, we can say that the writers didn't skimp on really interesting puzzles, and the directors, on special effects. Here is an ice room, and unusual basements, and the "wow" effect, which Mykhailo Khoma wanted to achieve so much. According to the plot, Mykhailo Khoma as a talented pianist, who urgently needs money, enters the house of the widow of the famous engineer Zygmunt Potocki, who not only equipped his creation with secret passages and furniture protruding from the floor but also hid his legacy there… Viewing the film, we counted 14 different puzzles, but you may find more! The main mystery is a quest that the late engineer hid in the house, and Khoma's hero together with Ada, housekeeper Rytka, and the manager of the estate try to solve it because each of them needs money hidden in a secret vault of the building.
