President Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump, who likely won the US presidential election on December 5, are committed to fostering a longstanding and productive dialogue. Both countries will work towards a just peace.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Andrii Sybiha, wrote on X.

In addition, Sybiha added that Ukraine is counting on America's decisive leadership.
It should be noted that on November 6, President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Donald Trump, the candidate for the position of head of the White House, on his victory in the presidential elections of the United States of America, which took place on November 5, despite the fact that the counting of votes in some states continues.
He recalled a meeting with Trump in September when they discussed the strategic partnership between the United States and Ukraine, the victory plan, and ways to end a full-scale war.
The President of Ukraine added that he appreciates the Republican's commitment to the "peace through strength" approach, which "can really bring a just peace in Ukraine closer."
According to Zelensky, Ukraine is looking forward to the "era of a strong USA" under Trump's decisive leadership and is counting on further "strong bipartisan support of Ukraine."
"I look forward to the opportunity to personally congratulate President Trump and discuss ways to strengthen Ukraine's strategic partnership with the United States," Zelensky said.
For reference:
The next American presidential election was held on November 5. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are the leading contenders for the post of head of state.
As of the morning of November 6, voting for the presidential, Senate, and House of Representatives elections had almost concluded in nearly all states across the US.
In six crucial "swing" states, Donald Trump, the leader of the Republican Party, currently holds the lead. Trump has emerged as the preliminary winner of the US presidential election, surpassing the Democratic Party's representative and sitting vice president, Kamala Harris. The former president has secured the necessary 270 votes.
On November 5, the United States also held elections for the Senate and the House of Representatives. Mike Johnson, who represents Louisiana's 4th district, was re-elected as the current speaker of the House and will continue to serve in the upcoming session of Congress. In addition, the Republican Party now holds the majority in the US Senate following the elections for the upper chamber.
