In Lviv, at the Center for Intellectual Art "Mercury," an exhibition project called "LYSYK" was opened, presenting the creative work of the artist-scenographer Yevhen Lysyk.

The press service of the Center and Ukrinform reported that.

"We are starting this year with a large-scale exhibition project, "LYSYK." Huge curtains, photographs, and sketches that transport you to the world of Yevhen Lysyk's work.

For the first time, you will be able to see how the artist created his theatrical universes up close," the message says.

Yevhen Lysyk is an artist-scenographer whose work laid the foundations of an innovative school of scenography.

"Lysyk found his freedom on the theater stage, where his ideas expanded into epic spatial designs.

To truly showcase his talent, an exhibition like this was necessary—it tells the story of how Lysyk crafted his theatrical worlds," the Center noted.

According to Mykola Molchan, the project's author, the images created by Yevhen Lysyk in a relatively peaceful time sound new today.

Movchan and the artist's daughter, Anna Lysyk, created the artist's imaginary creative space. They divided the exhibition into several parts, each revealing different aspects of his work.

One of the halls is dedicated to Lysyk's unique legacy: legendary curtains and three-dimensional models for performances at the Lviv National Opera, where the artist created over eighty performances.

The "Creation of the World" ballet hall showcases the artist's expansive reflections on "the existence of the universe." Here, visitors can view a fragment of a real 21-meter-long set piece, which was previously only visible from a distance during performances.

Also, for the first time, a model for the scenography of the ballet "Spartacus," a version of which was never realized, is presented here.

The theater costume hall offers an in-depth look into the character creation process for performances, which Lysyk developed alongside his wife, Oksana Zinchenko (Lysyk).

A separate space is reserved for live contact with the artist's environment: through the memories of family, friends, and students, whose reflections on Yevhen Lysyk can be seen in video stories.

The exhibition will last until March 9.
