Solutions from Ukraine: UAnimals launches fundraising platform for saving animals

The UAnimals humanist movement in Ukraine has launched a platform where individuals can initiate fundraisers to help save animals in celebration of their birthdays or other special occasions.

What is the problem?

During the full-scale war, animal rights activists:

• raised over 599 tons of feed for animals impacted by the war,
• rescued over a thousand animals from the front lines and performed sterilizations on more than 15 thousand;
• aided in the rebuilding of 10 shelters.

"All this is possible because we are supported by people – Ukrainians and foreigners, companies and organizations. Thanks to donations, we can save hundreds of animals daily from hunger, disease, and sometimes even death," UAnimals emphasized.

What is the solution?

"Are you planning to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, wedding, or graduation? Why not make it even more special by supporting animals affected by war during your event?" the organizers wrote on the website.

How does it work?

How to create a collection?

• Choose a holiday or event.

In addition to birthdays, UAnimals offers to dedicate a collection to weddings, pets' birthdays, or launches a joint collection with friends or a company.

•  Enter your details and the date of the celebration.
• Upload photos and briefly describe the collection.
• Choose what you want to raise money for.

Among the available options are feed, sterilization, reconstruction of shelters, and evacuation of animals from the frontline areas.

• Submit the collection to UAnimals for approval. The team says the review will take one day.

"Your gathering will be a great opportunity to combine a symbolic event for you and helping animals. They rely on us and need this support," animal rights activists emphasized.

The collection will be available in the "Current Events" section of the platform. Users will be able to share it on social networks and support other people's gatherings.

It should be noted that the humanitarian organization UAnimals and pet store chain MasterZoo have teamed up to launch the "Paw of Care" initiative, which provides sterilization services for animals in front-line cities and villages without access to veterinary clinics.
