Zelensky visits Great Britain to attend European Political Community summit

On Thursday, July 18, the head of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, arrived on a visit to Great Britain. He will take part in the summit of the European Political Community.

Ukraine's president reported that on Telegram.

"The countries of the European space are gathering for the fourth time at the summit of the European Political Community to discuss common topics and challenges. I came to Great Britain to participate in the summit, bilateral meetings with partners, and sign new security agreements," he said.

Zelensky added that Ukraine's relations with Great Britain are a separate program of the visit.

"I will meet with His Majesty King Charles III, Prime Minister Keir Starmer, government officials, and heads of defense companies. We will sign an intergovernmental agreement on support for the Ukrainian defense industry, discuss future defense cooperation, and expand our defense capabilities," he said.

The president added that from the first days of the full-scale invasion, Great Britain was one step ahead in its determination to support Ukraine.

"This is the kind of determination needed to stop Russian terror," he emphasized.

Earlier, The Guardian reported that Zelensky will visit Great Britain and Ireland.

According to The Guardian, this trip will be an opportunity for Zelensky to meet with the newly elected Labor government representatives.

New British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will speak at the meeting's opening as its host. He is expected to emphasize his country's commitment to Ukraine and the reset of relations with the EU.

The King of Great Britain, Charles III, appointed Keir Starmer, the leader of the British Labor Party, as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and instructed him to form a new government.
