Belarus and China are conducting joint military exercises near Polish border
China and Belarus are starting joint military exercises near the border with Poland. They occur on the eve of the NATO summit, which starts on July 9 in the United States.
Rubryka reports this with reference to Sky News, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
On July 6, the Chinese military arrived in Belarus to conduct joint exercises.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Chinese servicemen will participate in a joint anti-terrorist exercise from July 8 to 19.
Joint training will allegedly enable:
- exchanging experience,
- coordinating the Belarusian and Chinese units,
- creating a foundation for the further development of Belarusian-Chinese relations in the field of joint military training.
"The opening of the joint anti-terrorist training of Belarus and China Attack Falcon took place at the Brestskyi range," writes the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
As it is claimed, as part of the so-called anti-terrorist exercises, which will last until July 19 and will be held at a training ground near Brest, the military personnel of both countries will practice:
- the issue of night landings,
- overcoming water obstacles,
- conducting actions in the settlement.
"At the same time, the units will be combined at separate stages; there will not be a separate Chinese unit or a separate Belarusian unit — they will act together," said the commander of the special operations forces of the Armed Forces, Major General Vadym Denisenko.
As Sky News clarifies, the exercises are taking place on the eve of the NATO summit in Washington, where 32 NATO member states, including Poland, will meet to discuss further military and financial support for Ukraine.
In the published photos, the Chinese military disembarks from the plane and unloads the equipment. However, it is unknown how many servicemembers are involved in the exercises.
It should be noted that the Brest training ground is located almost 40 km from the Ukrainian border and about 30 km from the border with Poland.
It will be recalled that earlier, the special operations service of the Armed Forces of Belarus announced the "increasing tension" on the border with Ukraine and that Ukraine allegedly wanted to "draw Minsk into the war."
Meanwhile, since the beginning of the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, military exercises have been constantly held on the territory of Belarus.
On June 21, the Republic of Belarus began a sudden check of the readiness of military units and units of the armed forces to perform tasks as assigned. Military units and units of operational commands, special operations forces, missile forces, artillery, the Air Force, and air defense forces were involved in the inspection.
Ukraine strengthens the border in the Belarusian direction. In particular, in the Volyn region, two border outposts were opened after the reconstruction. Their personnel protect and defend sections of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.
